Segmentation in Email Marketing

If you find yourself sending targeted mass email newsletters to a large list of recipients, then segmentation can work well to optimise those sends. By segmenting your list into more specific categories you can streamline your sending to be much more effective and in doing so improve the results you find. One example of this would be for instance that you have sent a previous campaign and the results have come in for who opened the email. You could optimise the list by targeting “openers” and only sending a particular email newsletter to these people, whilst sending a separate email marketing newsletter with a revised subject to the “non-openers” Another way to use segmentation would be based on targeted information. For instance you could have lists segmented into age groups so you can see a clear difference in your subscribers and send targeted mass email as necessary.
